PresbyLens Implant Trial Begins in US

The PresbyLens is a small corneal implant designed to replace the need for wearing glasses. It's already available in Europe and a trial in the US started on 6th April 2010.

With LASIK procedures, some of the cornea is removed to reshape the cornea and improve a patient’s near or reading vision. With the PresbyLens the lens is inserted to reshape the cornea. The lens is made from a proprietary, optically clear, biocompatible material that is similar to the material used in a soft contact lens.
