Ropren
Ropren is a strong and effective natural hepatoprotector. Clinical trials have demonstrated that Ropren can normalizes lipid metabolism, strengthens the immune system, prevents and treats neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease. On 30 September, 2008 Solagran announced that initial sales of Ropren® in countries outside Russia has commenced with prices realised at or above a baseline level of $3,000 for a standard three month course.

Ropren has been shown to have significant therapeutic effect in 3 main areas: - The prevention and treatment of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease, - The treatment of conditions associated with drug and alcohol addiction, and - The treatment of anxiety and depression. Solagran released the results of its initial Ropren® trials with Alzheimer’s patients in September 2005. In addition to a significant improvement in blood biochemical parameters, enzymatic activity (MAO and AChE) and subjective parameters including anxiety and depression, the trials revealed an average 38 percent improvement in cognitive function among patients who had been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for between 6 and 48 months. This particular outcome, which was measured using the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), for the 25 patients in the experimental group. In the opinion of the research team, this was the first time that treatment with any pharmaceutical substance (let alone a low side effect natural substance) had actually restored lost cognitive function in Alzheimer’s patients – as distinct from simply slowing the rate of cognitive decline. The Ropren® dosage used in this initial Alzheimer’s trial was double the standard 3 drops, 3 times per day dosage that has now been registered in Russia for the treatment of chronic liver disease.
In February 2007, Solagran announced the results of an Australian trial conducted in Melbourne that showed an average 15 percent improvement in memory in healthy elderly volunteers (aged 65 to 80) as a result of a standard 3 month course of Ropren® (3 drops, 3 times per day). This outcome was supported by EEG analyses and was considered an outstanding result for “healthy” people. Participants in the Melbourne trial also experienced normalisation of their cholesterol levels (evident in an increase in HDL and a decrease in LDL levels). This “positive side effect” of Ropren® treatment had also been apparent in Russian trials. In January 2008, Solagran announced that it had secured patents for the use of Ropren® in the treatment of dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease) as well as conditions associated with drug and alcohol addiction. In February 2008, the company announced outstanding results from a clinical trial conducted by Dr Agishev and his team involving the use of Ropren® to treat 60, critically ill, drug addicted chronic alcoholics.
