Hydress +Plus™ is a silver based wound dressing. These types of wound dressings work when the moist silver emits ions. Silver ions (Ag+) are bioactive and kill bacteria in both external wounds and in living tissue.  The Hydress +Plus™ silver based dressings will be manufactured by AquaMed, yet marketed and sold through HepaLife’s subsidiary called Alliqua BioMedical, Inc.
 
The Company’s dressing is approximately 90% water based and does not have the issues of requiring pre-wetting or absorption of transdermal water loss or wound exudate to become bioactive.
 
There is no flaking or shedding of elemental silver or staining the patient. Continuous, sustained release of silver allows for broad spectrum antimicrobial activity. Multi-step approach for eradicating bacteria. Demonstrates rapid bactericidal activity against a broad range of pathogens in a pharmacodynamic in vitro model. Controls the volume of wound fluid and optimizes the wound environment for a balanced healing process. Enhances patient comfort by providing cooling effect.
