June 2011: Results are in for a post FDA approval study on survival rates for patients using continuous flow LVAD as a bridge to heart transplantation. Outcomes were excellent with 91% of HeartMate II patients achieving positive outcomes of transplant, cardiac recovery or ongoing LVAD support at 6 months.
