Having a quick mind is what many people wish for. They might want to be able to think faster at work or for the purpose of playing sports. Thinking faster occurs naturally the healthier you are. The use of common herbs like guarana can also help you to think faster. Then there are the illegal categories which definately make you think faster but have deadly side effects.

Thinking quicker can also be accomplished by exercising the mind with certain activities or the use of computer programs and software. There are plenty of PC programs that specialize in rapid decision making and quick response times

Brain Games

The fastest growing genre in video games is "brain training," a genre that has become popular in 2006. Nintendo's "Brain Age" has become a smash hit and started a heap of copycats like "Brain Boost," "Brain Genius," "Brain Juice," "Brain Challenge" and (for the sake of variety) "Mind Quiz."

The jury is still out on whether these games which consist of mostly simple, rapid-fire math, logic and observation problems really make you smarter and think faster.

Millions of people still get their regular brain workout from the old-fashioned, low-tech crossword puzzle. A new game out called the The New York Times Crosswords is a collection of the puzzles that has appeared every day in The New York Times. This package collects 1,000 crosswords from the Times archives in one slender digital package. You can zoom in and out of different sections of the grid, then either type your answer with an on-screen keyboard or write it with the stylus.

Foods and Supplements For a Fast Brain

Add some dark chocolate to your diet. When you eat chocolate it activates the systems in your brain that pump dopamine, an important brain chemical. This enables better learning and memory, and helps to keep your brain sharp and fit.

Scottish scientists have recently discovered that fish oil helps to keep dementia at bay and slows the brain’s ageing process. People who eat oily fish or take fish oil supplements score 13% higher in IQ tests and are less likely to show early signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers say that their brains appear to be have aged up to two years less than those of people who do not consume fish oil.

Caffeine

Caffeine is a central-nervous-system stimulant that occurs naturally in at least 63 plants. When ingested, it blocks adenosine, a chemical that slows brain activity. That results in alertness and heightened concentration. The effect peaks in 30 to 60 minutes, then tapers off.

Published data shows the per-capita consumption level of caffeine for the average adult is approximately 200 milligrams daily. The average child consumes much less, only one-quarter of the caffeine consumed by adults.

Most health-care professionals consider about 250 to 300 milligrams to be a moderate daily dose. Go beyond that, and you may feel shaky, jittery or anxious and have trouble concentrating or sleeping, says Cynthia Sass, a registered dietitian in Tampa. You also could temporarily suffer from elevated blood pressure or an irregular heartbeat.

There's probably no reason for alarm if you consume moderate amounts of caffeine, though.

"Luckily, research shows that the danger and risks (of caffeine) seem to be very minimal, even when consumed in large amounts," says Dr. George Everett, who practices internal medicine at Orlando Regional Healthcare. "Generally speaking, it's pretty innocuous." Those with heart disease and high blood pressure, though, should watch their intake.

Guarana - Powerful Herbal Stimulant

The taste of Guarana is distinctive and unique, the main ingredient of guarana is guaranine, which is chemically identical to caffeine. This is the reason for the energy boost people get after taking guarana.

Cheating with Speed

Because this website aims to upgrade your body we strongly advise against the use of illegal drugs. They're illegal in most countries because they have serious side effects and often lead to mental problems as well as physical deterioration if used regularly. However they do provide the most extreme ways of thinking quick so they deserve a mention in our article.

Speed (amphetamine or methamphetamine) is a stimulant drug. It produces alertness, confidence and raises levels of energy and stamina. It reduces appetite and lessens the desire and ability to sleep. This all sounds great but if used over a period there are serious down sides. Regular use can produce a need to increase the dose to get the same effect, and it leads to physical dependence.

The 'comedown' off speed can make you feel tired, lethargic and depressed. Many users become physically run down, which leaves them susceptible to a wide range of illnesses. Speed can produce a powerful craving for more of the drug. Long-term use can result in serious mental and physical problems. Extended use of speed can cause psychosis.

Even stronger than speed is crystal meth or 'Ice'. This is a potent, smokable form of regular speed. Like crack is a potent form of freebase cocaine, ice is the potent freebase of speed. Users refer to the sensation from smoking ice as "amping", because of the amplified euphoria it gives them. Unlike the 15-minute high produced from using crack, the high from smoking ice can last from 8 to 24 hours.

Reported adverse effects include severe weight loss, aggressive behaviour, fatal lung and kidney disorders, and long-lasting psychological problems characterized by paranoia and hallucinations. More serious lung disorders are anticipated with the smokable form of this drug. As with most amphetamines and amphetamine-like drugs, ice can potentially cause increases in blood pressure and heart rate, abnormal heartbeats, heart attacks, strokes, convulsions, and coma. Furthermore, continued use of ice can rapidly lead to addiction and the various social problems associated with an expensive drug habit.
